2023 AIPPI World Congress
Dear colleagues and partners!
This is to inform you that on October 22-25, 2023, the Annual World Congress of the AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) will be held in Istanbul, Turkey. The event will be attended by our trademark and patent attorneys and associates Julia Zavalko and Inna Kamorgina.
The annual AIPPI International Congress is usually held in September or October. It is an important event that gathers together members from all over the world to discuss hot topics in Intellectual Property (IP). Usually up to 2 000 members attend it.
The Congress provides an opportunity to conduct substantive legal work, ensures the harmonization of AIPPI decisions with the adoption of resolutions, and creates conditions for professional growth and networking.
National and regional groups operate in the AIPPI structure to express the positions of different countries of the world on the issues under consideration and offer their views and approaches for harmonizing the decisions of the congress. After the completion of the annual congress and the return of delegates home, back to their practice, work continues at the national level. Decisions voted on by the AIPPI Executive Committee are communicated to law-making bodies of each participating country, so the work is already in place.
Within the framework of the Association there are permanent committees on such issues as alternative dispute resolution; amicus; biotechnology; client attorney privilege; commercialization of IP; Copyright; designs; digital economy; enforcement; free trade agreements; geographical indications; information technology and the Internet; IP and green technologies; patent cooperation agreement; patents; pharma; piracy and counterfeiting; standards and patents; trade secrets; trademarks, etc.
