We are happy to share with you that one of our partners, Zhanat Nurmagambetov, was appointed as a member of the 2024-2025 Anticounterfeiting Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA). The Committee will start its work on January 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 term.
Over the next one year Zhanat will have an opportunity to contribute his experience, collaborate with industry leaders, and reflect on policies that have a global impact within the international trademark community.
Zhanat’s expertise includes IP rights enforcement. In particular, he is engaged in the issues related to pretrial, civil, administrative, criminal and customs measures of trademark rights enforcement, including issues related to parallel import and import of counterfeited goods. He closely cooperates with the state enforcement agencies, participates in resolving of domain name disputes and provides consulting on competition issues. Zhanat regularly speaks at the local and international seminars and conferences.
The Anticounterfeiting Committee is devoted to global enforcement of anticounterfeiting procedures. The committee assesses treaties, laws and regulations concerning counterfeiting and its enforcement. It also formulates and supports robust policies for safeguarding against infringement while advancing efforts to educate on enforcement.
