Finally a growing number of companies are resuming their activities. We can notice increase in the number of cars and pedestrians. It is joyful to mention opening of enterprises necessary and comfortable for life. The period of rethinking of interrupted activities is still continuing and companies return to the market with new plans, new directions and plans to enter new markets.
It is interesting to underline that the work on registration of trademarks and patents, consultations continued even during the state of emergency, it was obvious that company executives chose IP consultants much more thoroughly and carefully, discussed in detail the possibilities of protecting and overcoming obstacles to registration and made more thoughtful decisions. It might be thanks to availability of time that could be devoted to developing new directions or may be significant budget restrictions however as we understand the latter was not the most important.
Finally, after we resumed our work and have the opportunity to meet in offices offline, such work has increased significantly: consultations and discussion of projects include registration of their own IP objects and the possibility of canceling or terminating trademarks and patents of competitors, obtaining protection of IP rights outside Kazakhstan.
This is joyful since the protection of intellectual rights is taken into account in production and trade plans and appropriate budgets are formed including IP protection.
I would especially like to mention the interest of companies in training their employees both lawyers and other specialists – at least in the basics of intellectual property law, organization or courses or seminars on trademarks and patents for inventions, utility models and industrial designs.
With sincere respect to colleagues and partners contributing to the development of intellectual capital, we wish you success and good luck!
I hope that the possibilities of protecting rights through the assistance of state bodies shall also be restored soon and not only in terms of lifting restrictions on raids, but also terminating the moratorium on checks and resuming the legally established level of protection.
