On October 3-4, 2019, Bolotov & Partners associates participated in the III International Conference on Exclusive Copyright and Related Rights “Status and Development Prospects in Theory and Judicial Practice”. The Conference was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Yuri Bolotov, Managing Partner, made a presentation on the Prospects for the creation of a specialized court on intellectual property rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan (statistics and disputes over the resolution of industrial property disputes).
The were working discussions of a wide range of issues in the field of copyright and related law, in particular, representatives of the neighboring countries (Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, India and others) spoke about the status and development of exclusive rights in their countries.
Conference participants also spoke about the general issues of strengthening of court practice on intellectual rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the need to create a court on intellectual property rights in Kazakhstan, about reforming the collective management system.
