The Ural State Law University (USLU, Yekaterinburg) hosted an open lecture given by Yuri Bolotov, Doctor of Law, Patent Attorney of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Managing Partner of Bolotov & Partners. The lecture was devoted to Protection and Enforcement of Trademarks in Central Asia. The lecture was held within the meeting of the scientific student community named Thoughts and Speeches of the Department of Civil Law of the USLU. The lecture was entirely devoted to the issues of protection and enforcement of intellectual property (IP) in Kazakhstan and in the Central Asian countries.
During the lecture, attention was paid to international conventions governing intellectual property, examples of IP objects were given, graphs showing the volume of intangible assets in various countries of the world, such as the USA, China, Japan, and the member states of the European Union were shown.
After the lecture Bronislav Michislavovich Gongalo, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Civil Law of the USLU honored Yuri Bolotov with a letter of thanks.
Note: The Department of Civil Law of USLU was founded in 1954 after the division of the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure. Currently, 45 teachers work at the department, among them 3 PhDs and 25 Masters of Law. The teachers teach civil law disciplines such as civil law, Roman private law, family law, housing law, corporate law, intellectual property law and others.
The department plays an important role in the training of lawyers in the field of private law. Most teachers successfully combine scientific and teaching practice. The USLU is the respectful organization among various organizations and individuals for providing expert and professional opinions on the most difficult issues in applying civil, housing and family law.
